Kelley’s Place
About This Spot
Stepping into Kelley’s Place feels like slipping into a well-kept secret nestled right on Garibaldi’s waterfront. The rustic, weathered exterior may remind you of days gone by, but inside, the pace is unhurried and welcoming — a true local hideaway where the rhythm is set by the tides and the stories swapping at the bar.
This bar and grill is the kind of spot where you arrive with a craving for comfort and leave with a sense of connection. The atmosphere hums quietly with familiar laughter and easy conversation, especially as the sun dips toward the bay. Tables both inside and outside invite you to soak in the shimmering water views and the salty air. There’s a humble authenticity here — a no-frills vibe that feels honest and enduring.
Food and drink are woven seamlessly into that experience. Whether you’re unwinding with a carefully mixed cocktail or diving into something hearty and satisfying, each bite and sip seems thoughtfully prepared to match the setting. From crisp fish and chips that echo the bay’s bounty to thick, creamy clam chowder that comforts like an old friend, the menu quietly honors the coast without fuss. Fridays bring a welcomed ritual of prime rib night, setting an inviting tone for lingering well into the evening.
The staff adds a personal touch that lingers long after you leave. There’s an attentiveness in their service that feels practiced yet genuine, always ready for friendly banter or a quiet nod in passing. It’s not about speed or sophistication here; it’s about making space for moments that feel sincere and grounded.
Finding Kelley’s Place requires a bit of a detour off the main road, an invitation to slow down and discover something away from the usual hustle. In that sense, it’s no surprise that those who seek it out often find themselves lingering, not rushing — drawn by a sense of place that feels timeless, a refuge where the everyday slows to a comfortable pace and every visit feels like a quiet gathering among old friends.

Went to kelleys on a whim as I was about to leave the coast for the day and I'd say that was a wise decision. Gorgeous view, especially around sunset, the two ladies behind the bar were great, very attentive and a great conversation. I ordered the fish and chips as well as a long island, the drink was mixed well and the fish was fried perfectly only thing I have to say is I wish the was a bit more seasoned but that's personal preference! Still delicious.

Not the most obvious place off of the 101 and you have to go down a cruddy little road, it's worth it. The chowder is very good and thick, like it should be. The fried clams are thick and good, not overly chewy.. The French dip was amazing. So many choices in the menu look good. It might not be the fanciest place but certainly worth stopping and enjoying the food and views and friendly staff.

We were looking for a place where locals go because we usually find better prices, quality food and always an adventure. The location is a little off the main path but not impossible to find if you continue past the RV park on a gravel road. Once there you will find an older building along the water. It was clearly posted outside “no minors” and “cash only”. Once inside it was an obvious local go to place. The bartender/server was polite and attentive to helping us even though were obliviously not locals. The menu items were mostly bar type food with salads and soup. I ordered the clam chowder, after the waitress assured me it was good. I consider myself a clam chowder connoisseur having tasted various restaurant recipes from the California to Washington state coast . Their chowder was one of the best, in my opinion. If you are a Mo’s clam chowder fan than this is not the soup for you. The consistency was perfect and loaded with clams and vegetables. We thought the prices were very reasonable and would return here again! Before we left we learned the owner and soup chef turned out to be our server “Kelly”. Thanks Kelly!

CASH ONLY, but ATM available. Back towards the bay off 101.. by the smoke stack... take 3rd St, head to the left towards the camp ground area, stay left, follow signs. This place looks like an old warehouse from the outside, very cool! Sits right on the bay, tables inside and outside. NO MINORS sign posted on the front door, bar right inside the door. This looks like it is a fisherman's hangout, people are fun and friendly. The food was good, fish and chips-fresh cod, BLT-thick sliced bacon. Good sized portions. Pool table in the back room. Large deck on the bay side.. Everyone was very friendly. Worth the drive.

The best service we have had in a very long time. We walked in as a party of 11, and they set up a spot for us all to ourselves in the back area. From order to table; 15 min tops. Everything was delicious, the bill was more than reasonable, and our waitness was super sweet. Thanks so much for the great experience.

This place was amazing! The door were incredible. You don't see wood work like that much anymore. The food was great! The staff was awesome. The view from the outside area breath taking! Highly recommend!

One of my new favorite places. This place is chock full of character. I arrived a little before opening. At 11:00 a.m. I walked up to the door, I was passed by a local who removed the sign blocking door. I took that as a cue to go in as well. The locals continued to trickle in the entire time I was there. The food was excellent. The chowder was amazing. I had the daily special, a fried cod sandwich with potato salad. The sandwich was a thin slice of Cod fried very crisp. Delicious. You can sit outside as well with a great view of the Bay. Kelley, the owner, was top notch remembering all of the locals drinks and handing them out as they sat down. If you're in the area don't hesitate to go here, enjoy the view, and maybe if you're lucky, a conversation with a local.

Very cool spot by the bay to sit and have a beverage and food. I tried their daily special, a Pork katsu sandwich, amd it was absolutely delicious! Love this place.
